for individual student assignments, read the staff guide on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/learningtechnologyhub\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2024\/11\/Padlet-Copy-to-Each-User-Option-1.docx\">Padlet Copy to Each User Option<\/a><br \/><br \/>View \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Create_your_Padlet_in_Moodle\"><\/span>Create your Padlet in Moodle<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>From your Moodle module, turn editing on and choose &#8216;<strong>Add and Activity or Resource<\/strong>&#8216; and select &#8216;<strong>Padlet<\/strong>&#8216; from the list of activities. If you are a first-time user, your account will be automatically created.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-5743\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/learningtechnologyhub\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2024\/09\/Padlet2.png\" alt=\"Padlet activity button displayed in Moodle\" width=\"509\" height=\"431\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Key_Settings\"><\/span><strong>Key Settings\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Working within Moodle, you should be able to safely accept many of the default settings.\u00a0 For example, a\u00a0 new Padlet&#8217;s &#8216;Visitor Permission&#8217; is set to \u2018<strong>Writer<\/strong>\u2019 by default, which is normally what you would want, so that students, or anyone else you share the Padlet with, will be able to post content. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is an overview of all the Visitor permissions and what they mean:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No Access<\/strong>: this option means that only specified\/ invited individuals can access the Padlet\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reader:<\/strong> Visitors can access the Padlet and read posts\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Writer:<\/strong> Visitors can write new posts\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Moderator:<\/strong> Visitors can write, edit and approve posts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Disabling &#8216;re-makes&#8217; (copies) of your Padlet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You may wish to allow students to &#8216;Remake&#8217; (copy) your Padlet. But if you wish to prevent students doing this, you must go to the settings cog and scroll down to &#8216;<strong>Remakes<\/strong>&#8216;. Change the setting from <strong>&#8216;Everyone<\/strong>&#8216; to &#8216;<strong>Admins only<\/strong>&#8216;.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Padlet_privacy_settings\"><\/span><strong>Padlet privacy settings<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You also have the option of <em>how<\/em> you wish for others to access the Padlet (under Link Privacy).\u00a0 If you create the Padlet in Moodle (recommended) the default option is &#8216;Organisation Only&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>There are three settings to choose from:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Secret:<\/strong> This means that, anyone you share the Padlet URL with, can view and post content and they do not require to have a University Padlet account. Posts will appear <strong>anonymously.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Secret Password:<\/strong> This is similar to Secret but with added security. Anyone who has the link and the Padlet password (of your choosing) can view and post content without a University Padlet account. Posts will appear <strong>anonymously.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Organisation only:<\/strong> Choose this option when you want anyone in the University<strong> with<\/strong> a Padlet account to access your Padlet. Because they will be logged in with their University Padlet account, you can choose whether posts appear anonymously, or whether the poster\u2019s name is attributed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Export_Options\"><\/span><strong>Export Options<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Padlets can be exported in PDF, Excel or image formats, which is recommended when using Padlet for assessment purposes and when you need to keep a permanent record.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Comments_LikeUpvote_and_other_Settings\"><\/span>Comments, Like\/Upvote and other Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The &#8216;comments&#8217; and like\/upvote features are amongst the most valuable features of Padlet, and can be used to turn the Padlet into a thinking and voting tool where talking points and class opinions can be formed and rich learning artifacts created. Use of these features with the students is highly recommended.<\/p>\n<p>Padlet offers a wide range of different layouts and styles. You can also choose from hundreds of different types of backgrounds to suit the type of Padlet you are creating and its intended audience. You will also find a whole host of other videos which will provide you with hints, tips and support for creating your Padlets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_link_your_personal_Padlet_account\"><\/span><strong>How to link your personal Padlet account\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Do you have a Padlet account that you originally set up before you had a University account?
