{"id":2054,"date":"2019-04-04T09:50:09","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T09:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=2054"},"modified":"2019-07-11T14:39:37","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T14:39:37","slug":"woodmusick2019","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/event\/woodmusick2019\/","title":{"rendered":"WoodMusICK2019 (postponed)"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>THE WOODMUSICK2019 CONFERENCE IS POSTPONED.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to thank everyone for their interest and submissions to date, and we will be in touch again when we are relaunching the conference.<\/p>\n<p>You can also see information about the WoodMusICK network and activities at <a href=\"http:\/\/woodmusick.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/woodmusick.org\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>the next WoodMusICK2019 conference will take place on the 17th &#8211; 18th October 2019, hosted by the University of Edinburgh at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcecilias.ed.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St Cecilia\u2019s Hall<\/a>.\u00a0 This conference is in association with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iom3.org\/wood-technology-society\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Wood Technology Society<\/a>\u00a0of IOM3.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The theme this year will be Wood, Musical Instruments, and Sound. This\u00a0covers a wide scope including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conservation of historical wooden musical instruments;<\/li>\n<li>Wood and the making of new instruments;<\/li>\n<li>The role of wood in performance and\u00a0musical heritage;<\/li>\n<li>Wood and acoustics, from instruments to concert halls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are keen to have participation from makers, musicians, conservators, wood scientists and even foresters.\u00a0 If you are interested in both wood and music, this is the conference for you!<\/p>\n<p>There is more information on the <a href=\"http:\/\/eepurl.com\/ggYrJb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mailing list sign up page<\/a> and at <a href=\"http:\/\/woodmusick.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/woodmusick.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>THE WOODMUSICK2019 CONFERENCE IS POSTPONED.
