{"id":523,"date":"2016-02-19T17:07:33","date_gmt":"2016-02-19T17:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/?p=523"},"modified":"2016-02-19T17:07:33","modified_gmt":"2016-02-19T17:07:33","slug":"visiting-researchers-go-visting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/visiting-researchers-go-visting\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting researchers go visting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2016\/02\/2016-02-18-16.15.26-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-528 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2016\/02\/2016-02-18-16.15.26-1-267x300.jpg\" alt=\"2016-02-18 16.15.26-1\" width=\"267\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Visiting researcher, Filip Panteli\u0107\u00a0(left) and intern researcher\u00a0M\u00e9lanie Libeau (right) took time from their lab work to visit\u00a0Jonathan Santa Maria Bouquet (centre) &#8211; who is a conservator of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/museums-and-galleries\/musical-instrument-museums\" target=\"_blank\">Edinburgh University&#8217;s collection of historic musical instruments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan and Filip participate in COST Action <a href=\"http:\/\/woodmusick.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">FP1302 &#8220;Wood Musick&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0 (WOODen MUSical Instrument Conservation and Knowledge), and it is this action that supported Filip&#8217;s two week visit to us under the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/cwst\/fp1302-woodmusick-call-for-stsms\/\">STSM scheme<\/a> (Short Term Scientific Mission).<\/p>\n<p>Filip Panteli\u0107 is a final year PhD student in Acoustics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bg.ac.rs\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Belgrade<\/a> (Serbia). He is an acoustical engineer and professional musician, playing the double bass (although not the one shown in the picture &#8211; as Jonathan is part way through the conservation work).<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e9lanie Libeau is visiting us from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agro-bordeaux.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ecole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Sciences Agronomiques de Bordeaux Aquitaine<\/a>, where she is in the second year of studying towards a Dipl\u00f4me d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur in forestry. \u00a0She studies wood and also plays guitar so she was interested in finding out more about how wooden musical instruments work.
