We hold weekly meetups<\/b> where members share projects, offer feedback, and learn from one another. These sessions are informal and supportive\u2014perfect for working on Foley<\/b>, field recordings<\/b>, sound editing<\/b>, or any audio-related project. Bring your laptop, your ideas, or just your ears.<\/p>\n

We team up with students from all sorts of backgrounds\u2014film, games, music, journalism, theatre<\/b>, and more. Whether you\u2019re recording voiceover for a student animation or designing sound for an indie game prototype, this is a place to meet collaborators and make great things happen.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need to be studying sound design\u2014or even know what a DAW is\u2014to take part. Whether you\u2019re a beginner or building a final-year portfolio, there\u2019s something here for everyone. Just bring your curiosity and your willingness to learn.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfa7<\/b> Learn by Listening (and Walking)<\/b><\/p>\n

We run field recording trips<\/b> and sound walks<\/b> around Edinburgh to help you build your own library of original recordings and explore how sound interacts with the world around us. These are a great chance to get hands-on with ambient sound and rediscover the city through your ears.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1<\/b> Skills Sharing & Mini-Sessions<\/b><\/p>\n

Our members often share tips, tools, and techniques\u2014from cleaning dialogue in Adobe Audition to layering textures in Reaper or Logic. If you\u2019ve got a method that works for you, you\u2019re welcome to run a short mini-session<\/b>. We also encourage informal peer mentoring<\/b>, so there\u2019s always someone to help you figure something out.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfae<\/b> Get Involved Beyond Campus<\/b><\/p>\n

We support members in participating in public-facing creative events like the Global Game Jam<\/b>, 48 Hour Film Project<\/b>, and the Edinburgh Short Film Festival<\/b>. These are great opportunities to test your skills in real production environments and build your portfolio with finished work.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re making a game in 48 hours or creating original sound for a rapid-fire short film, we\u2019ll help you prep, find collaborators, and feel confident going in.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfc6<\/b> Share Your Work<\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ll help you get your work out there\u2014whether that\u2019s preparing for the Edinburgh Fringe<\/b>, showcasing pieces at Society listening events<\/b>, or submitting projects to student and professional festivals. We also plan to build a digital archive of member work, and run fundraisers<\/b> to help cover entry fees when needed.<\/p>\n
