{"id":622,"date":"2022-09-07T17:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T17:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/social-informatics\/?p=622"},"modified":"2022-09-14T06:54:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T06:54:48","slug":"welcome-back-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/social-informatics\/2022\/09\/welcome-back-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome back"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A couple of brief updates for the new academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The School of Computing and the School of Engineering &amp; the Build Environment are now merging to form SCEBE. This has the potential of opening up new opportunities for collaboration. As part of this, the Social Informatics research group now resides in the Applied Informatics Subject Group. However, our focus remains the same <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/social-informatics\/about-the-centre-for-social-informatics\/\">as described here<\/a>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>a shared interest in socio-technical interaction at different levels of organisation, with an increasing focus on the role of infomation. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another unrelated change is that I have now taken over leadership of the Social Informatics research group from Prof Hazel Hall.
