This workshop will provide an overview of what business engagement is, what it involves and how you can be part of it. It includes group work which will explore how to link your research into industry needs and how to take this forward.

The aim of this workshop is to start a discussion about gender and career progression and transitions at Edinburgh Napier University. We want to hear about your experiences, opinions and solutions. These discussions will contribute to Edinburgh Napier University’s Athena SWAN journey. Examples will be given from the Athena SWAN process in the Business School.

Online resources to support researcher skill development – Grainne Barkess – Room 2/07

The university has some new online resources that can support researchers with their skills development. During the session we will look at Vitae’s online development planner as well as hearing about our online Moodle courses which include writing for publication, research methods, career development, networking, and working with supervisors.

Brilliant Bids: Creating funding applications that stand out – External Funding team, RIO – Room 2/10

In this fun interactive session we will learn about how to put together a convincing bid for research funding. We will cover the process of applying for funding, and given how competitive funding schemes are, we will focus on how you can make your bid stand out from the crowd.
