Falling Through the Net: SCVO Gathering Workshop

On 11 February 2026 we ran a workshop as part of the SCVO Gathering in Edinburgh. The workshop brought together researchers from Napier with the third sector organisation Family Advice Information Resource (FAIR) and Voyage Care.

We were delighted to welcome more than forty people to the session, from a wide range of mostly third sector organisations in Edinburgh and Scotland.

In the workshop we talked about the challenges which were faced by 64 local charities when the Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board announced sudden cuts of £4.5million, and heard from the first-hand perspectives of Kimberley Swan (CEO, FAIR), Philip (Voyage Care service-user) and Stuart (FAIR Board Member and service-user).

During the workshop we also saw a trailer of Falling Through the Net, a new film which has been co-produced by Edinburgh Napier researchers, Dr Diane Willis and Judith Fieldhouse with FAIR and Voyage Care participants.

The full short film will have its premiere on Thursday 19 March at North Edinburgh Arts. To book a free place, please book a place online (subject to availability).
