Share your research at the Fringe as part of The Provocateurs!
Want to share your work with audiences at the world’s largest arts festival? Fancy starring in your very own Fringe show accompanied by a stand-up professional? We are now recruiting for August 2026 and are looking for researchers from all academic disciplines to take part. The deadline for applications is 30 November (not 23 November).
Application process:
Our call for ideas is now live. Fill in this short online form by 30 November for your chance to share your research at the Fringe. We strongly recommend that you read the information on the Provocateurs website before submitting an application: https://www.provocateurs.uk/
Who is eligible to apply?
University researchers (academics and PhD students in their 3rd year or above), researchers from other institutions (in particular those who collaborate with university researchers).
Funding for Napier researchers:
Napier researchers will have the cost of their Fringe performance fee covered. This will be coordinated directly with the Provocateurs team. More information about this process will be sent to successful applicants in due course. Please note that you do not need to apply for funding through the university’s internal public engagement competition.
