The Employment Research Institute presented findings from ongoing research projects at the British Society of Gerontology Conference 2017 held at Swansea University, 5-7 July 2017.

Dr Valerie Egdell and Mandy Cook (Centre for Mental Health and Capacity Law, Edinburgh Napier University) presented initial findings from a study on employer responses to dementia in the workplace in Scotland. The study is being undertaken by a research team from Edinburgh Napier University, the University of the West of Scotland and Heriot Watt University. The research is funded by the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland.

Dr Valerie Egdell also presented initial findings from a study on the impact of the ageing workforce on Hong Kong’s service sector. The research is being undertaken by Dr Valerie Egdell, Vanesa Fuertes and Dr Tao Chen from the Employment Research Institute; and Dr Nathalia Tjandra from the Marketing, Sales and Entrepreneurship subject group at Edinburgh Napier University Business. This research is funded by the Lawrence Ho Research Fund.
