Measures such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Improved thermal performance<\/strong> and airtightness,<\/li>\n<li><strong>High-performing glazing<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mechanical ventilation systems<\/strong>,<br \/>can reduce whole-life carbon emissions by up to <strong>80%<\/strong>, balancing energy savings and cost-effectiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>Data-Driven Decisions for Local Authorities<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-164\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/enu-mindcrea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/120\/2025\/01\/Slide3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over the past years, <strong>30+ building studies<\/strong> have been conducted across Scotland for seven local authorities, targeting nurseries, primary schools, and other archetypes.<br \/>Key findings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>58% reduction in heating demand<\/strong> through balanced interventions.<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>85% reduction<\/strong> is achievable with EnerPHit measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These studies demonstrate that <strong>fabric improvements simplify servicing<\/strong> while reducing operational carbon and energy demand on the grid.<\/p>\n<h4><em>People-Centric Design: At the Heart of Retrofit<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-165\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/enu-mindcrea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/120\/2025\/01\/Slide4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Janice emphasized that successful retrofitting goes beyond data.
